Educational products designed around the child.

erniee creates imaginative educational apps and resources that support children’s learning and wellbeing. Each product starts with a real learning problem and considers the whole experience around it, including confidence, motivation, privacy, accessibility and how technology connects with school, home and everyday life.

WorldHop is already released. Spellify is the first programme we want to fund. Together, they show where erniee has started and the approach we intend to take much further.

One app released. One ready to take further. More to follow.

WorldHop shows that erniee can take a personal observation, turn it into a clear product idea and release it for children to use.

Spellify shows the scale of what comes next. A substantial working product already exists, covering curriculum spelling, memorable words, weekly school lists, games, scheduled review and support for children, parents and teachers. Funding will take it through expert review, testing, completion, release and adoption.

These products solve different problems. What connects them is how they begin: with the child, the learning and a clear reason for the technology to exist.

Spellify

Working private beta. Proposed first funded programme.

The programme we want to fund first.

The problem.

A weekly spelling list can be difficult to turn into practice a child wants to do.

What already exists.

An extensive working product already exists. Spellify brings the primary spelling curriculum, memorable words and the words a child is learning this week into one connected experience.

Children work through adventures and games while Spellify returns to words over time and quietly provides more support where it is needed. Teachers and parents will have tools designed for their roles, while the child remains inside the learning experience rather than seeing adult data, labels or comparisons.

What backing enables.

The proposed first programme will fund the educational and psychology review, testing, product completion, privacy and security work, release preparation, school outreach and support needed to bring it into public use.

WorldHop

Released on the App Store.

Proof that we can take an idea into the world.

“Where’s Lisbon?”

“Portugal.”

“Is that in Spain?”

“I’m stupid. I don’t know where that country is.”

WorldHop was created to turn that moment into curiosity. Each visit begins with one country and gives the child a manageable place to start.

WorldHop was designed, funded and released independently. It is the first working proof of the wider erniee idea and the beginning of a world that could grow through more country content, learning resources and focused experiences around animals, cities and countries.

Candidate Those extensions remain possible directions rather than funded commitments.

What every erniee product should have in common.

  1. Learning has a clear purpose.Every activity should help a child understand, practise or discover something. Play, characters and rewards support that purpose rather than competing with it.
  2. Support protects confidence.Help can change without announcing that a child is behind. Progress remains private, and the experience avoids public rankings, visible demotion and comparison with other children.
  3. Technology has boundaries.Activities have a recognisable end. Progress can be saved without pressure to continue, and practical resources can carry the same learning into drawing, making, conversation and play.
  4. Access is part of the design.Core apps and complete downloadable learning resources are intended to remain free to access. Advertising and commercial messages do not belong inside the child’s learning experience.

Where we want to take this next.

Spellify and WorldHop are the starting point. The same approach could support products across more subjects, age groups, learning needs and formats, including apps, downloadable resources and physical learning materials.

Every future programme will need a defined audience, learning need, scope, evidence plan, cost and route to continued support before it is presented for funding.

Join us in making the next product possible.

The first proposed programme is to complete, test and release Spellify. WorldHop provides the proof that erniee can deliver, while the roadmap shows the wider work this approach could support.

You can back the work, become a founding business, join a pilot, contribute expertise, make an introduction or share erniee with your network.
